LOL. I have a gold can that looks remarkably like yours. 35 pounds oc Civil Defense Carbohydrate Supplement, Societe Candy Co., Seattle, WA. My guess is candy companies all over the U.S. were asked to make these up for bomb and fall-out shelters. Your label says California, mine is Seattle and another site I stumbled upon is out of Atlanta. The candy is still good in mine dispite the rust building on the outside of the container. Well, good, when you consider its just rock candy. Cheers!
